The Oblivious Mother (on repeat)
980mm x 1300mm
What would the movements of an attentive, focused, responsive mother look like? What would that feel like?
Here is a representation of the opposite: Anxious loops of predictable chaos, chasing their tail, turning on themselves and others along their path, sowing seeds of confusion & spontaneous dysfunction at every turn, unable to see or be present with the little hearts in their hands. …It may not be comfortable to challenge the traditional concept of a mother, but it is a far less comfortable experience to be raised by one, only to learn your voice is stifled by a society who can’t bear to have an uncomfortable conversation.
This original artwork is a fine art print on 380gsm archival canvas, framed in a custom Oak shadow-box, finished with beeswax & custom spline joinery details.
